William E. "Willie" Lupi, 92 of Hamden died Nov. 9th at home after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of the late Paula D'Aniello Lupi. Born in Hamden, son of the late Peter & Louise Gaetano Lupi, Willie was a happily retired co-owner of the Lupi - Marchigiano Bakery. He was an Army veteran, and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed skiing and boating in Vermont. William is survived by a devoted son William A. Lupi of Hamden, a daughter Sue Lupi of Mass., a sister Teresa Lupi of Hamden, and a grandson Roland Lupi. He was predeceased by a former wife Shirley Papero Lupi, a daughter Ellen Marie Lupi, brothers; Peter, Rudy, and John Lupi, and a sister Conni Capasso. Calling hours will be held MONDAY from 830 - 10:30 am in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 am in Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment with full military honors in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
