William V. Coughlin Jr., 78, of North Haven, formally of West Haven, passed on October 10, 2014. William was born in New Haven, July 25, 1935, son of the late William V. Coughlin Sr., and Lillian Bull Coughlin and served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Cold War era. He retired from the Southern New England Telephone Co. as Supervisor of Motor Equipment and was honored by the Telephone Pioneers of America with recognition for "his dedication to the principals of friendship, loyalty and many years of service". He was predeceased by a sister Rita Bohan and is survived by a brother, Richard Parrett and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, Saturday at 10 AM, followed by interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park, Hamden.
