William "Bill" R. Boyle, 76 of Wallingford, formerly of Hamden passed away Sept. 18th at Yale N.H.H. with his family by his side after a long illness. He was the loving husband of 52 years to Linda (Pilato) Boyle. Born in New Haven in 1945, son of the late Bertrand & Dorothy Bohnenkamp Boyle, he served in the U.S. Army, and was a firefighter for the city of New Haven for 31 years. He was an avid Yankees and Giants fan, he enjoyed going to the casino, being outside and loved making his family laugh. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister Barbara (Thomas) Lawson of Huntington, his loving daughters; Danielle (Michael) Harnois and Gina (Claudio) Golia both of Wallingford, Heather Boyle and fiance' Joshua Gharis of West Haven. His grandchildren Isabella Torrens, Elizabeth Golia, Parker Harnois, Sophia Torrens, and Amelia Gharis, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by sisters Roberta Knoeffler & Ruth Black, and brothers David and Bertrand Boyle. Friends may call SATURDAY morning from 8:30 - 10:30 A.M., a service will be held in the funeral home at 10:30. Burial will be private.
