Vincent "Chick" Pisano, of Hamden, CT and Boynton Beach, FL, beloved husband of Anita Vegliante Pisano, passed away April 3, 2012. Born in New Haven, CT on May 4, 1939, he was the son of the late John and Marie Pannella Pisano. Loving and devoted father of Maria (Michael) Piasecki, John Pisano and Graceann Pisano. Proud grandfather of Giovanna, Michael and Nicholas Piasecki; and Angelica, Francesca and John Pisano. Brother of Johanna Pisano and the late Jimmy Pisano. Chick, former Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 443, was highly respected by labor and management alike. His passion and ability to negotiate on behalf of his members allowed them to achieve the American dream. He was ahead of his time in providing his members with healthcare, pension and other important benefits that far exceeded those of, and became the model for, other labor unions. He was admired by his members, for whom he worked tirelessly. As an avid boatsman, one of his greatest joys was captaining the Sabudeea, which he did with great skill and ease. His ability to provide for family and friends brought him the most pleasure and left them with a lifetime of memories. He spent his retirement with his wife of 50 years, surrounded by family, food and friends. He enjoyed listening to music and watching MSNBC and FoodNetwork in the company of his granddogs, Lilly and Daisy. Family and friends may call Monday, April 9th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. Funeral begins Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home and 10 o'clock at Blessed Sacrament Church in Hamden. Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven.
