Vera Nesto Torello, 98, of Hamden, died Jan. 5, 2011 at Connecticut Hospice after a lengthy illness. She was the widow of Anthony T. Torello. Vera was born in New Haven, Sept. 22, 1912, the daughter of the late Frank and Annunziata Nesto, resided in Hamden most of her life and was a longtime communicant of St. Ann's Church. She is survived by a daughter, Carol Torello of Hamden and a son, Anthony T. (Suzanne) Torello of Guilford, two sisters, Antoinette Salvati of Naples, FL. and Grace Martino of Hamden and 2 grandsons, A. Thomas Torello of Somerville, MA and Michael B. Torello of Stamford. She was pre-deceased by siblings Margaret Abate, Esther Farotti, Virginia D'Addio, Frank Nesto Jr. and Anthony Nesto. Funeral Monday at 10:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, and at St. Ann's Church at 11 o'clock. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Friends may call Sunday from 3 to 6 P.M.
