Obituary

Thomas C. Cangiano, 86, of New Haven, died at Connecticut Hospice, Sept. 4, 2018 after a brief illness. Tom was born in New Haven, Feb. 2, 1932, the son of the late Anthony and Assunta Esposito Cangiano and resided in New Haven all his life. He was an Army Sergeant, during the Korean Conflict and upon returning to New Haven was employed at Exxon Co., for 30 years retiring in 1992. He was a frequent player at Mohegan Sun and was on a first name basis with many of the staff. He enjoyed playing tennis, cooking and traveling, especially to Acapulco, Mexico. He is survived by a sister, Rose Vigliotti, (Anthony) of East Haven and a brother, Anthony "Junior" (Betty) Cangiano of New Haven and many loving nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Andrew (Marie) Cangiano. Funeral Monday at 10:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, and at St. Bernadette's Church at 11 o'clock. Friends may call Monday morning from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Entombment will be privately held, in the Garden Mausoleum in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT.
