Thomas David Benedek, 76, of 464 Pine Rock Ave., Hamden, died May 21, 2013 at St. Raphael Hospital Campus. He was the husband of Marylou Pongetti Benedek. Tom was born in Clearfield, PA, May 24, 1936. A Hamden resident for the last 40 years, he was a painter for the Belardino Painting Co. retiring 10 years ago. A hard working man, he enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters Christa and Marisa Simone. He is also survived by a daugher, Mrs. Joseph (Pia) Simone of Hamden. He was pre-deceased by his mother Erma Pye and brother, Patrick Foley. Funeral Thursday at 9:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at St. Stephen's Church at 10 o'clock. Interment in Centerville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, Thursday morning from 8 to 9:15.
