Thomas Bellonio Sr. 82 of Hamden died peacefully July 15th surrounded by his loved ones at Yale New Haven Hospital after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Laurie Franco Bellonio. Born in New Haven, son of the late John & Julia Grande Bellonio, Tom worked for 50 years as a mason. He was a proud member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local #1, as well as the Campania Italy Club. He was an avid Yankees and UCONN men's & women's basketball fan. He enjoyed doing word searches, playing cards, working on his lawn, and tending to his garden. He was loved by many. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Thomas (Donna) Bellonio Jr., and John Bellonio, daughters Kimberly Bellonio, Heather (Jason) Choquette, and Jennifer (Timothy) Totton, grandchildren Carmen Bellonio, Zachary Choquette, Mason Choquette, and Jake Bellonio.  At Tom's request there will be no services. Burial will be private and at the discretion of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Tom's name to the American Heart Association ( www.heart.org )
