Stuart A. Tassmer, 71, of 134 Pearl Ave., Hamden, died at St. Raphael's Hospital, Dec. 14, 2011. He was the husband of Jeannette Taber Tassmer, recently celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Stu was born in New Haven, Nov. 15, 1940, the son of the late Floyd and Gladys Nueman Tassmer and was a building technician at the Arden House from 1985 until his illness. Prior, he was a printing press operator for the Hamden Chronicle for many years. An avid hot rodder and drag racer, he had many time class winners. Besides his wife, he is survived by sons Timothy (Alexia) Tassmer of Wallingford and Toby Tassmer of Hamden, a sister, Mrs. Ray (Barbara) Moncevicius of Meriden, grandchildren, Mrs. Mario (Natasha) Sousa, Veronica Tassmer and Karly Tassmer (Marlon) and 3 greatgreat grandchildren, Kelso, Ava and Karina. Funeral services will be held in the Peter H.Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, Saturday at 10 A.M. Interment in Centerville Cemetery, Hamden. Friends may call Friday from 4 to 8 P.M.
