Steven P. Sanca 36, of Prospect, died Feb. 9, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital, Waterbury. Steve was born in New Haven, April 13, 1974, son of Carl & Linda Badale Sanca of Hamden and resided in Hamden all of his life prior to moving to Prospect in 2004. He played for Hamden Youth Hockey from 1982 -1989 and then played for Hamden High from 1990-1992 when he graduated. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a gifted individual with talents of transforming distressed property into beautiful landscapes. He was instramental in the renovation of the Union City Little League Baseball Field in Naugatuck. He was a member of The International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 478, and found success in what he did by forming his own company, S. Sanca Excavation. He also was a Hamden Youth Hockey Coach. Beside his parents, he leaves his beloved son, Carmen A. Sanca of Naugatuck, his girl friend Jillda Presta of Prospect, a brother James(Mia)Sanca of Griswold, grandson of Alfred Badale and the late Edna Badale and the late Carmen and Susan Sanca, uncle of Angel, Jonathan, Matthew and Sarah and several aunts and uncles. Funeral Monday at 9:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, l022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at Blessed Sacrament church at 10 o'clock. Interment in St.Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 6 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Carmen A.
