Ruth A. Butler Goodloe, 56, of Chesterton, IN, passed away peacefully, Saturday May 23, 2015 in Chicago. Ruth was born in New Haven, Oct. 18, 1958,daughter of James Joseph and Eileen Marie (Smith) Butler and was raised in Hamden, prior to moving to Chesterton. She was married on Sept. 14, 1991 in Portage, IN to Phillip Goodloe. Beside her parents and husband she is survived by siblings James (Lori) Butler, Matthew (Rose) Buttler, Doreen Butler and Mary (Stephen) Guzowski, step parent Maureen (McHugh) Butler, all of CT., step grandchildren, Summer Bokodi, Alyssa Hastis and Quinn Looney, nephews, Brandon, Nicholas, Justin and Aiden Butler, nieces Stephanie (Guzowski) Giacco and Melissa Guzowski along with countless friends, aunts, uncles and relatives. Ruth was a homemaker and a loving wife. After surviving a rare form of leukemia in 2004 she retired from being a dental assistant and spent her days in a variety of activities. She was an avid reader who loved sports, her family, sock-puppets, arts and crafts, hummingbirds, voice impersonations and her pets. She could draw beauty from anything and everything and had names for the various animals that lived near and around her home, most famous of all, "Ritz" the Squirrel. Ruth had a radiant smile and loved to laugh and make others laugh. She will be missed by all. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 10 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church, 321 Circular Ave.,Hamden, CT. followed by interment in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
