Rudolph Raccio, Sr., 95, of 113 Pool Rd., North Haven, died Jan. 23, 2012 at his home. He was the husband of the late Philomena DeStefano Raccio. Rudy was born in Gioia Sanitica, Italy, May 25, 1916, the son of the late Peter and Christina Raccio and owned and operated Rudy's Shoe Repair in New Haven for 50 years, retiring 20 years ago. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and a former member of the Knights of Columbus, West Haven Council. He was the father of Mrs John (Phyllis) Torelli of Wallingford, Marianne Anastasio of Branford, Peter (Kathleen) Raccio and Rudolph Raccio Jr., both of North Haven, and two grandchildren, Suzanne Oroszo and Michelle Raccio. He was pre-deceased by siblings Lena Raccio, Amelia Landino, Madelena Ferrucci and Dominic Raccio. Funeral Friday at 9:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at St. Michael's Church at 10 o'clock. Interment in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 P.M.
