Rosemarie Theresa Testa, 79, of Hamden passed away peacefully on April 5, 2022. Born in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late John and Palma Testa. A graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, she was a teacher for more than 40 years at Overbrook and Robert W. Carbone Elementary Schools in East Haven. Named to Who's Who Among America's Teachers several times, she was a Beginning Teacher Mentor, Master Teacher, and Reading Tutor. Rosemarie was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, church, and community. She loved taking care of others, lending a hand and heart whenever it was needed. She is survived by her brother Henry and her sisters Gloria (John) Hollo, Carol, and Barbara (Dennis) DeLoughery, her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and her beloved pet Sparky. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Frank, Joseph, John Jr. and Raymond, and her sister Nancy Tafuto. Family and friends are invited to call Friday at 4 to 7pm in the Peter H. Torello & Son F.H., 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. Friends are invited to go directly to Church of the Ascension, 1050 Dunbar Hill Road, Hamden on Saturday at 10A.M. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
