Rose Ardolino Karpinski, 96, of 707 Mix Ave., Hamden, died May 22, 2012, peacefully at her home. She was the wife of the late Walter Karpinski. Rose was born in Trapani, Sicily, Aug. 25, 1915, the daughter of the late Antonio and Catherine Grammatico Ardolino and resided in Hamden most of her life. She was a member of several senior centers where she enjoyed dancing and enjoyed going to the Clellian Adult Center. She is survived by a niece, Maria Abbadessa of Hamden, step children, Linda Hewitt of Hamden and Rosemary Mendillo of GA., Special grandnieces, Rosemary Abbadessa Lettiero (Fran), Cathy Abbadessa Miranda (Richard) all of Hamden and Frances Pardus Abbadessa (Drew) of NY. and many grand nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her first husband, Philip Planeta and her second husband, Louis Guarino a sister, Florence Ardolino and a brother John Ardolino. Funeral Saturday at 9:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10 o'clock. Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday morning from 8 to 9:15 A.M.
