Ronald A. "Cookie Man" Baia Sr.'s Obituary
Ron, 77, a US Army Veteran, passed away peacefully in his sleep at Yale New Haven Hospital on September 22, 2021 after a long illness. He was born January 3, 1944, in New Haven CT, to the late Albert Baia and Carmella Martino Baia.
He is survived by ex-wife Carol Baia, his cats Yogi Bear & Callie, his loving children Ronald Baia Jr, James Baia, Elizabeth (Bryan) Throm, and Michael Baia, grandchildren Ronald, Trisha, Sean, Melissa, Tylarr, Sarah, Brooke, Maggie, Arianna, Mikey, Matthew, & Lyanna, 4 great-grandchildren, siblings Pasquale (Clare) Baia and Leon (Donna) Baia, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
He was predeceased by siblings Alberta Santagata-Gift, Richard Baia, Anthony Baia, nephew Christopher Baia, and ex-wife Diane Esposito.
Ron lived life to the fullest and like Frank Sinatra always said, "I did it my way," that was Ron's motto. He was a true food and animal lover! He donated to many organizations especially for animals. Ron would give the shirt off his back and the last $20 in his pocket if you needed it. He had a heart of gold! He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services and burial with full military honors were privately held.
