Robert W. Klemenz, 79, of 107-40 Queens Blvd. Forest Hills, N.Y. died Aug. 7, 2013 at New York Hospital-Queens in Flushing, N.Y. after a long illness. Robert was born in New Haven, Feb. 26, 1934, the son of the late Joseph and Alice Miller Klemenz. He was honorably discharged from the US Army Corps after 6 years of service. He worked for the US Postal Service in New Haven, and, in Manhattan, as a shipping clerk for an import/export company from which he retired five years ago. He has resided in Queens the last 40 years. He is survived by a brother, Raymond (Jindra) Klemenz of Quaker Hill, Groton, a sister in law, Florence Klemenz of New Haven, close friends Sidney Twarkowsky from Forest Hills, N.Y. and Allan Guberman from Brooklyn, N.Y., 5 nephews, 2 great nieces and 3 great nephews. He was pre-deceased by his daughter, Debra Klemenz. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 AM in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. Interment in Beaverdale Mem. Park. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
