Richard C. Tramontano, Sr., 79, of 408 Burr St., New Haven, died March 2, 2013 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, St. Raphael Campus. He was the husband of Rae DeLucia Tramontano. Richard was born in New Haven, May 14, 1933, son of the late Arthur and Marie O'Connell Tramontano, and was a master mechanic for the Operating Engineers, Local 478, for over 50 years. A New Haven resident all his life, he was an alderman in the former 14 Ward, a former member of the Annex Club and the Republican Town Committee, the K of C, Rodrego Council and a Army Veteran of WWII. He is the father of Mrs. Shawn (Marie) Rigoulot Sr., of New Haven, Joseph Tramontano of Hawaii, Richard Tramontano Jr., and Jerry Tramontano, both of New Haven, a sister, Lorraine Appi of East Haven, a brother Salvatore Tramontano of Port Charlotte, FL. and grandchildren, Joseph, Richard and Michael Tramontano, Shawn and Ethan Rigoulot and Caylee Furtak. He was pre-deceased by brothers Arthur and Raymond Tramontano. A special thank you to Dr. Ernest Moritz and Joy Mackenzie for their devoted and loving care. Funeral with military honors, Wednesday at 9 A.M.from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, and at 10 O'Clock at St. Bernadette church, New Haven.
