Richard Salzano Sr., 87 of Guilford died suddenly Feb. 11th at his home. He was the loving husband of the late Marjorie Botte Salzano. Born in New Haven, son of the late Gennaro & Caroline Canforo Salzano, Richard worked for many years as a banker, starting at First New Haven Savings, then subsequent other area banks. He was an Army veteran. He enjoyed playing cards with his group from work and considered himself an expert card player. He was an avid sports fan, and was most proud of his son and granddaughters' accomplishments. He is survived by a son Richard (Barbara) Salzano Jr. MD of Guilford, a sister Annette "Chickie" Fraulo of Branford, and granddaughters Leah & Ava Salzano. He was predeceased by a brother Louis Salzano, and a sister Sophie Fraulo. Services will be privately held in the Peter H. Torello & Son F.H., Hamden followed by burial with military honors in All Saints cemetery.
