Raymond S. Palumbo, 89, of 150 Cook Hill Rd., Cheshire, formerly of Jennifer Rd., Hamden, died Feb. 9, 2017 at his home, after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Rita Donnelly Palumbo. Ray was born in New Haven, Dec. 26, 1927, the son of the late Vincent and Josephine Parisi Palumbo and was a Navy Veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Union of Operating Engineers, Local 478 for 20 years as a crane operator. Prior to retiring, he was a Sr. Supervisor at the Water Treatment Plant, New Haven, for 13 years. He is survived by his loving children, Mrs. Thomas (Renee) Morgan of Hamden, Mrs. John (Laura) Del Vecchio of Trumbull and Vincent (Christy) Palumbo of Hamden and his grandchildren, Julia, John, Ray, Vincent and JamieLynn. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 P.M. at the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, Interment will be private.
