Raymond P. Borrelli, long time resident of Hamden, Connecticut passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025. Born August 19, 1948 the youngest son of Dominic and Concetta (LaPorte) Borrelli. He was predeceased by his wife Joan (DeVita) Borrelli, three older brothers Louis, Carl, Dominic and his two sisters Rosemarie and Delores. Raymond is survived by his two daughters Kari Borrelli (Jason Bernad) and Elizabeth Borrelli (Mary Sblendorio) and his two beloved grandchildren Eva and Jack as well as several devoted nieces and nephews. Raymond graduated from Eli Whitney Tech (Machine Drafting) and University of New Haven. He worked for various consulting engineering offices for over 25 years and over 10 years as a private consulting engineer. He was a member of the NFPA and certified by the State of Connecticut as a Fire/Life Safety Inspector. He also worked for over 10 years on second shift for the USPS Processing Center in Wallingford where he met some of his best friends. Ray was a 4th Degree Knight, Trinity Council #5467. He was also a member of several Italian American Clubs. In 1992 he was a member of the 500th Anniversary New Haven Columbus Day Parade as Christopher Columbus Himself and lead the parade holding a banner with his sister Rosemarie dressed as Queen Elizabeth. Ray loved puzzles and playing games, especially cards. He enjoyed coaching his girls' softball teams every summer. He loved photos, home movies and treasure hunts which he and Joan ran for the family. He also loved travel and meeting new people. He was always the most interesting person in the room and he will be missed. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4 - 7 pm in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. Everyone is asked to go directly to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church Friday at 10 am for a Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
