Phyllis Vita Caruso, 94, formerly of Sunset Rd., Hamden, died Aug. 26, 2009 at St. Raphael's Hospital. She was the widow of Alfred M. Caruso. Phyllis was born in Teramo, Abruzzi, Italy, Jan. 31, 1915, the daughter of the late Ladislov and Louise Selmont Vita and was a charter member of the Farms Country Club where she enjoyed playing golf. She was also a member of the Hamden Women's Club and will be greatly missed by her many devoted friends. She is the mother of a loving and devoted daughter Barbara ( Fred ) Sette of Hamden and a daughter Janet Walsh of North Haven, grandmother of Christopher ( Lynn ) Sette, Melissa ( David) Parnoff, Rory ( Marc ) Sernerchia, Michael & Glen Walsh, 6 cherished great grandchildren, sister of Lucy Squires of Hamden and the late Mary Venturo, Joseph Vita and George Selmont. The family would like a special thanks to Kevin Walsh for all his compassion and assistance. Funeral Friday at 11:l5 from the Peter H.
