Phyllis Clemente Borrelli, 98, wife of the late John J. Borrelli died peacefully March 10, 2017 in North Kingstown, RI. She is survived by a son, Joseph P. Borrelli and daughter in law Paula, of Narragansett, RI and daughter, Patricia Tranquist and son in law, Eric, of Wallingford, 6 grandchildren, Sheri Borrelli, Lisa Bacon, John, Jeffrey, Robert and Ashley Tranquist, 2 great grandchildren, Sophia Pittaluga and Cecelia Bacon, siblings, Angelina Midolo of East Haven, Rose Pepe of West Haven, Betty Midolo of East Haven and Domenick Clemente of Cheshire. She was predeceased by a grandson, Joseph J. Borrelli and siblings, Vincenza Pepe, Beatrice Parillo, Mary Dest and James Clemente. Phyllis was born in New Haven, June 19, 1918 daughter of Domenico and Nunziata Furrelli Clemente, graduated Hamden High School in 1936 and married her husband John in 1940. She formerly resided in Cheshire for 49 years and had previously lived in Hamden. She was a Rhode Island resident for the last 9 years. She was employed by United Elastic Co., a division of J.P. Stevens, until retiring in 1979. She loved to knit and crochet and was a wonderful cook. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. Funeral Thursday at 10:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and 11o'clock at St. Ann's Church. Interment in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 P.M.
