Philip A. Rapuano Jr.'s Obituary
Philip A. Rapuano Jr., 76, of East Haddam and formerly West Haven, died February 2nd at Middlesex Hospital Hospice Care. He was the widower of Judith Warren Rapuano. Born in West Haven, son of the late Philip Sr. & Eva Orlando Rapuano, he was a 59 year member of I.U.O.E. Local 478 where he spent most of his time in the field working as a crane operator. In 1987, he joined the Local 478 Apprenticeship & Training School as the crane instructor and later became the Administrator for the Local's Apprenticeship & Training Program. Phil was an Army veteran who served as a Buck Sgt. in the 729th Transport/ Rail Battalion. In his spare time he enjoyed building model airplanes. He is survived by his grandson Nicholas Paolillo of Hamden, his brother Mickey "Ruby" Rapuano and his wife Phyllis, nephew Phil "Ruby" Rapuano (Lorraine), and nieces Sandy Rapuano and Linda Murray (Ken) all of West Haven and his beloved friend Marcy Masci. He is also survived by a number of grand nephews and nieces. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his daughter Robyn Rapuano. Friends are invited to attend a memorial mass at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 2819 Whitney Ave. Hamden, Tuesday at 11 A.M. Burial will be private.
