Peter J. Inzero, 82, of 118 Fans Rock Rd., Hamden, died Dec. 27, 2011 at home. He was the husband of Joan Pellico Inzero. Pete was born in New Haven, Jan. 22, 1929, the son of the late Peter and Julia Primicerio Inzero and resided in Hamden and Cheshire, most of his life. He saw action during his service in the Korean Conflict. Upon returning, in 1955, he co-founded the Contempory Construction Co. and in 1963 founded the Peter Inzero Construction Co, which he operated until 1980. He was past president of National Utility Contractors Ass'n, Past president of Utility Contractors of Conn., who honored him with their man of the year award in 1969, and past president of Unitas Club of Hamden. Known as the "Flying Inzeros" he and his family enjoyed racing snowmobiles all over the country. He retired in 2007 to spend time with his family and enjoy trips to the Carribean and the casinos. Beside his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Ellen) DeFrancesco of Cheshire, sons, Peter M. Inzero of Hamden and Mark (Cheryl Vincent) Inzero of Wallingford, a sister, Marylou Papelo of Hamden and 5 grandchildren, Nicole, Nina, Keith and Amy Inzero and Sarah DeFrancesco anda sister in law, Marie Inzero of Hamden. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Pat Inzero,a brother in law Sam Papelo,and a grandchild, Christopher Vincent Inzero. Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Friday, at 12 noon. Interment private. The Peter H. Torello & Son F.H is in charge of arrangements.
