Obituary

Paula D'Aniello Lupi, 59, of Hamden, died suddenly at her home, June 13, 2014. She was the wife of William "Willie" Lupi. Paula was born in New Haven, Aug. 18, 1954, the daughter of the late Stanley and Mildred Chancio D'Aniello and was an optician, operating West Village Optical, which she founded in 1980. An avid golfer, she was committee member and team captain of Conn. Women Golf Ass'n, responsible for competition throughout Ct., RI and MA, leading her team to many championships. She was well known in New England golf circles. She enjoyed skiing, both water and snow and was a breast cancer survivor, being active in Y-Me, a breast cancer support group. She was very involved and dedicated to her beloved family and her extended family, and will be greatly missed. Beside her husband, she is survived by her sister, Elisa (Matt) Allardice of Wallingford, a brother, Guy (Sue) D'Aniello, of Hamden, a nephew Kurt D'Aniello, nieces Kala (Matt) Zawalich, Kylie and Keri, grandniece and nephew, Kira and Dan, and a grandson, Roland Lupi. Funeral Tuesday at 9:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home,1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10 o'clock. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
