Orrin (Owen) Dright, 48, of New Haven, died Nov. 13, 2014 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Orrin was born in The Bronx, NY, the son of Preston of New Orleans, and Shirley Cheek Dright of New Haven and worked in the dining service department at Yale University for the last 7 years. Besides his parents he is survived by his children, Oreal, Loren and Orrin Dright Jr, sisters, Vivian, Carolyn and Sherry Cheek and Nazareth Vyraven and brothers Cantrell (Carmen) and Che ( Montaye) Cheek, and 5 grandchildren. Also, long time companion, Jessie Pickett. He was predeceased by a Grandmother Vivian Cox. Funeral service at 12 noon on Thursday from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park, Hamden. Friends may call Thursday morning from 10 to 12 AM
