Olympia Onofrio Grace, 98, of Meriden, formerly of Hamden, died peacefully at home with her family at her side, on Thursday March 2, 2017. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Joseph P. Grace. Olympia was born in New Haven, April 8, 1919, daughter of the late John and Christine Onofrio and was also predeceased by her siblings, Carmel Ranciato, Mary Rabbito, Christine, Patrick and Eugene Onofrio and her in laws, John and Stella Grace. Olympia graduated Commercial High School in New Haven and was a seamstress during the war. She belonged to St. Ann's, Blessed Sacrament and St Mary's Churches and was documented by St. Teresa of Calcutta. She is survived by two sons, Joseph P. Grace Jr. of Simsbury and Jonathan Grace of Meriden and daughter in law Patricia Grace, a granddaughter Kara Mopps and husband Lt. Col. Charles Mopps of Venice, FL and a niece Donna Grace of Hamden.. She will always be remembered as a caring and loving mother and great homemaker and wife. Funeral Friday at 10:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at St. Ann's Church, at 11 o'clock. Interment in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 7 PM.
