Olga M. Giulietti, age 97 of Hamden , formerly of Derby passed away on June 19, 2013 at the Hospital of St. Raphael. She was the wife of the late Ettore (Arthur) Giulietti. Mrs. Giulietti was born in Derby Connecticut on June 6, 1916, a daughter of Joseph and Isabella Renzoni Mencoboni. She was the loving mother of Arthur Giulietti & his wife Patricia of Hamden and Elizabeth Quartuccio & her husband Joseph of Lattingtown, NY. Olga is also survived by her 5 Grandchildren - Sara Giulietti, Sharon (Giulietti) Dunn, Joseph, James and John Quartuccio and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Daniel and Leo and sisters Emma Bachiocchi, Laura Bernabucci, Eleanor DeNunzio and Florence (Leah) Rossi Martin. She graduated from Derby High School in 1935 serving as the Class Secretary. Her working career included Vonettes Restaurant and the Blumenthal Company in Shelton . During World War II, she was employed in the Foreign Economic Administration Division of the US Commerce Department in Washington , D.C. She worked with the British Delegation in the formation of the United Nations at Lake Success, Long Island , NY . In 1947, Olga and her husband established Art's Tailor Shop in Derby . She was Secretary to the Principal of Derby Middle School and spent her final working years as the Assistant Librarian of the Derby Public Library until her retirement in 1983. Olga's interests included cooking, knitting, sewing, ceramics and traveling. She was a life time member of the Griffin Hospital Auxiliary, the Adriatic Marchegian Club Women's Auxiliary, Derby Senior Center , Hamden Senior Center , St. Gertrude's Rosary Guild (Bayville , NY ), and the Derby Democratic Town Committee where she held the title of Secretary and worked on the Elections. The family wishes to thank the Hamden Senior Center , Clelian Center , Hamden Health Care Center and the staff of the MICU unit at the St Raphael's Campus of: YNHH for the loving care provided to Olga. Visiting hours will be Sunday, June 23, 5-8 PM at Torello's Funeral Home. Her Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joan of Arc Church , 450 West Todd Street , Hamden , CT on Monday, June 24, at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Peters Cemetery in Derby. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to any of the following charities in her name: Alzheimer's Association c/o Hamden Healthcare, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, Clelian Center , or Mill Neck Manor School for the Deaf, Mill Neck, NY.
