Michael (Spike) Delaney (62) passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025 at his home in Florence, KY. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 27 years Hillary (Deitz) Delaney, and his children, Sophie and Colin (Carly Johnson) Delaney. Mike is survived by his parents Eugene & Patricia Delaney of Hamden, siblings Jake (Laurie), Joe, Kevin, Kathy, and Mary Beth. His in-laws Sandra Tattershall, Sandy Deitz, Ritt (Victoria) Deitz and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mike graduated from VCU in Richmond VA with a BA in sculpture. He was an original member/creator of the art performance band GWAR and a dedicated Eagles and Phillies fan. Mike will be deeply missed  but mostly remembered for his humor and love for his family. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on September 6, 2025 at 11 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Whitney Ave, Hamden, CT. Burial will be privately held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics Hamden Team at 2666 State St #1, Hamden, CT  06517 .
