Melissa Shannon Markleski, 29, of Hamden, Connecticut, passed away on September 7, 2025. Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Melissa was known for her selflessness and loving nature, always putting the needs and well-being of those she cared for ahead of her own. Melissa had a passion for life and an insatiable curiosity. She found joy in music, learning new things, and meeting new people. Her love for animals, especially her cherished cats, was evident to all who knew her. She enjoyed knitting, spending time at the beach, and expressing her affection through thoughtful gifts, a true testament to her generous spirit. A remarkably creative individual, Melissa had an artistic flair that shone through in everything she did. Her green thumb and plant savvy were admired by many, as she nurtured vibrant gardens and shared her knowledge with friends and family. Always eager to accept a challenge, Melissa approached new endeavors with enthusiasm and determination, inspiring those around her. Melissa's kindness and warmth touched the lives of many. She approached each day with a vibrant enthusiasm, embracing new experiences and sharing her appreciation for the people around her through both words and actions. She is survived by Mother Lisa Ann Farquhar and Father Jeffrey Paul Markleski. Melissa's education included Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Politics and Master of Science in Political Science.  She dedicated her professional life to making an impact in every life as a Family Relations Counselor at the Judicial Branch of the State of Connecticut. Calling hours will be held from 8:30-10:30am on Saturday September 13th at the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, CT. A funeral service will take place at 10:30am at the same location.  Burial will follow in Centerville Cemetery, Washington Ave, Hamden, CT 06518.
