Mary Magliochetti Polio, wife of the late Vincent "Jimmy" Polio, died June 6, 2018 at her home in Hamden. She was 100 years old. Mary was born in Hamden, May 23, 1918, the daughter of the late Alfredo and Angelina Mascia Magliochetti and resided in Hamden all of her life. She was employed at Safety Car Corp. as a machine operator for over 45 years, retiring 32 years ago. Known as "Pingy" by family and friends, she was an avid bowler, bingo player, baker and a great cook. The things she treasured most were being together with family and friends, sharing stories of childhood and good times. In her earlier years, she loved to sew and made many of her beautiful outfits. Mary lived her life to the fullest, making it complete at 100 years of age. Aunt Pingy always greeted people with a smile on her face and all that knew her, loved her. The family would like to thank all at Masonicare, Ramage 2, for their help, care and compassion during her final weeks. Most of all, we thank Michelle and Brittany, her constant caregivers, during her final days, for all the help and love provided. Mary is survived by nieces and nephews, Charles and Nancy Koch, Ronald and Doris Santillo, Albert Jr, Lisa and Gary Magliochetti and several great nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her siblings, Theresa Santillo, Albert, Alfred and Joseph Magliochetti. Funeral Wednesday at 10:15 from the Peter H.
