Mary J. Scungio Lambert, 96, of Hamden, died Oct. 22, 2015 at Whitney Manor after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Thomas Lambert Sr. Mary was born in New Haven, in 1919, the daughter of the late Ralph and Isabella Marino Scungio and resided in Hamden most of her life. She was a lunchtime aide in many of the Hamden grammar schools and enjoyed cooking for her family and her trips to the casino. She is survived by her loving children, Marilyn (Fred) Bethke of Hamden and Thomas Jr. (Sarah) Lambert of North Haven, siblings, Florence DiGioia of North Haven and William Scungio of Hamden, grandchildren, Christopher Lambert of Southington and Thomas Lambert III of North Haven and great-grandchildren, Gianina, Isabella and Lucianna Lambert, all of Southington. She was pre-deceased by her brother, Pasquale Scungio. Funeral Monday at 10:30 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at St. Rita's Church at 11 0'clock.
