Mary Grace Barese Castellano, 99, lovingly known as "grandma cookie ", formerly of Hubbard Pl., Hamden, died Aug. 13, 2011 at Hamden Health Care. She was the wife of the late Anthony Castellano. Mary was born in New Haven, Oct. 28, 1911, the daughter of the late Natale and Marianne Idone Barese and was a life long Hamden resident. She was a graduate of Larson College, employed at Macy's Dept. Store for 23 years prior to retiring and was a volunteer at St. Raphael's Hospital for many years. She is survived by sons, Anthony (Ellen) Castellano of Hamden and Joseph (Pamela) Castellano of Cheshire, and was the devoted grandmother of MaryEllen Rodman, Kristin, Patricia, Anthony and Joseph Castellano and Jenifer Macauley, and great grandmother of 11. She was pre-deceased by a son, Frank Castellano and sisters, Anna Laudano and Josephine Ferrara. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock, in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. Friends may call from 9 to 11 A.M. Wednesday morning. Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
