Martha (Mattei) DePodesta, 82, of Lighthouse Point, FL, formerly of Hamden, passed away peacefully at home on April 19, 2024 surrounded by family. Born in New Haven, CT on April 7, 1942 Martha was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Victoria Mattei. She proudly received her associate degree from Gateway Community College. She loved her position as finance manager at the West Haven Public Library before relocating to Florida to enjoy retirement with her family. She was predeceased by her brothers Dominic Mattei, Anthony Mattei, Salvatore Mattei Jr., sisters Catherine Carrano, Patricia McDaniels, Anna May DeGoursey and daughter Melissa DePodesta. Those left to cherish the loving memories of Martha include: her son Dr. Craig (Audrey) DePodesta, her cherished granddaughters Adelina and Astella, brother Edward Mattei, sister Deborah Mattei and many nieces and nephews. She will be well remembered for her passion of cooking, making people laugh and her generous, kind heart. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the outstanding, compassionate care that Martha received from all of the Trustbridge personnel. Calling hours will be held MONDAY from 8:30 - 10:15am in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 am in Our Lady of Mt.
