Marjorie Evans Bradbury, 101, formerly of The Commons, 75 Washington Ave., Hamden, died July 23, 2012 at Masonicare. She was the widow of Kenneth L. Bradbury. Marge was born Newburyport, MA., April 30, 1911, graduated from Salem Teachers College and was a substitute teacher in the Hamden School System for several years. A Hamden resident for 45 years she, was an active member of the Dunbar United Congregational Church and the Womens' Fellowship, where she enjoyed making apple pies for their annual fund raising event. She was a good friend and always ready to lend a helping hand to all in need. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Ruth) Girolomo of Chershire, a son Theodore "Ted" (Patricia) Bradbury of Bath, ME, grandchildren, Allison (Joseph) McCarthy, David (Nicole) Girolomo and Diane (Donald) Thresh, great-grandchildren, Lauren, Rachel and Ted Thresh, a niece, Beverly Evans Francis and great nieces Diane Stinson and Michelle Small. She was pre-deceased by brothers, Harold and Donald Evans. Private services will be held at a later date.
