Marie Spivey, 90, of Hamden died peacefully at home on August 15, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late Linwood Spivey. Born in New Haven, daughter of the late Francis & Nancy Barile DeStefano, Marie worked for many years as a caregiver at A.R.C.. Marie devoted her life to helping at A.R.C.. She loved animals, enjoyed doing word searches, and watching westerns and old movies. She is survived by a son Richard (widower of Kim) Spivey of Hamden, a daughter Lynda (Stephen) Delaney of Orange, a sister-in-law Priscilla DeStefano, grandchildren; Michelle (John) Charboneau, Richard Jr. (Kristen) Spivey, Shelby Spivey, Stephen Delaney, Nicole Vece, Daniell (Scott) Weber, DeAnna (Matthew) Johnson, Frank Jr. (Christina) DeStefano, Christian (Maria) DeStefano, and 8 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter Deborah, brothers Salvatore, Anthony & Frank DeStefano and brothers-in-law Thomas & William Spivey. Calling hours will be held Friday August 22nd from 8:30 - 11:00 am in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. A parlor service will take place at 11:00 am in the same location. Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
