Obituary

Marie Bozzuto passed away peacefully on May 29, 2023, at the age of 98. She lived a long and happy life, always surrounded by her beloved family. Marie's departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her legacy of love, strength, and resilience will forever endure. Born on August 22, 1924, in New Haven, CT, daughter of the late Antonio & Rosine Cantore. Marie lost her mother at age 6 and was sent to live in an orphanage with four of her siblings. This instilled in her the values of family, hard work, and the importance of cherishing every moment. Marie had 4 brothers: Edward, Valentino, Frank and Joseph and one sister: Monica - Sister Rose Anthony. Marie's greatest joy was her family. She married the love of her life, John Anthony Bozzuto in 1947, and together they raised three wonderful children: John, Robert and Michael. Marie was a devoted mother, providing tough and endless love, support, and guidance. As Marie's family expanded, so did her heart. She was blessed with four loving daughters-in-law: Jackie, Helen, Sara and Karen; seven grandchildren (Laura and Lisa; Jason, Sarah, Bob and Nicky: and Jonathan, all of whom she adored and cherished dearly. She passed on her incredible whit, resilience and recipes to her grandchildren who adored her. In her later years Marie welcomed nine great-grandchildren into her life: Nora and Wyatt, Leah and Tyler, Stella and Audrianna, Gianna, Claire and Matthew and another great-grandchild coming in October. She delighted in the simple pleasures of spending time with family, playing cards and enjoying a nice homecooked meal. Marie will be remembered as a woman of remarkable strength, resilience, and love. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the values she instilled. She leaves behind endless memories, values and a family united by a deep love and an unwavering bond. Friends are invited to attend calling hours SATURDAY, June 3rd from 8- 9:30 a.m. in the Peter H.
