Maria Antonietta Rossi Mezza,  an angel, was called home by God. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Maria loved spending time with her family and sharing her love through cooking and gardening, her most favorite things to do, to bring joy and happiness to others. Mother to Martin Mezza and Dina Mezza Menchetti, mother in law to John Menchetti and Tina Mezza, grandmother to Leo Menchetti, Michael Mezza and Eli Menchetti, sister to Lucia and Aldo Desiato and Gaetano and Adele Rossi, aunt to Angela Desiato Morales, Peter Desiato, Carmen Desiato, Paul Desiato, Josephine Rossi Bucci and Lorenzo Rossi, lifelong friends with Clem and Jack Mordecai, Armand and Sharon Rossi and many other loving paesani. She was born in Melizzano, Italy, daughter of the late Lorenzo and Giuseppina Rossi, raised in Italy, and worked as a seamstress after immigrating to the US, making beautiful creations with her hands. May the Lord use her talents in Heaven. Funeral Saturday at 9:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and in Blessed Sacrament Church, at 10 o'clock. Entombment in the Garden Mausoleum in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. Friends may call at the funeral home, Friday from 4 to 8 PM
