Margherita Mercone Rossi, 92, formerly of Hamden, died May 7th at the Madison House after a long illness. She was the widow of Vittorio Rossi. Margherita was born in Melizzano Italy, Dec. 5. 1924, daughter of the late Gaetano and Rosa Mercone and came to this country in 1961 and resided in Hamden for the last 47 years. She was employed at the Henry Richards Pocketbook Co. prior to retiring and enjoyed being with her family and cooking for them. She was a longtime communicant of St. Ann's Church. She is survived by her devoted son, Armand (Sharon) Rossi of Madison, a sister, Giovanna (Nino) Concas of Caserta, Italy and a brother, Mario (Tina) Mercone  of Melizzano, Italy, loving grandchildren, Kristen (Joseph) Fusco and Amy Rossi and great grandchildren, Aidan and Harper. She was pre-deceased by her children, Gabriele Rossi and Theresa Rossi and brothers, Franco and Michele Mercone. Funeral  Wednesday at 10:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at St. Ann's Church at 11 0'clock. Interment in the Mausoleum at St. Lawrence Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 P.M.
