Margaret Afragola Rapuano, 71, of 112 Stanley Rd., Hamden, died Jan. 31, 2011 at her home, surrounded by her loving family, after a long illness. She was the wife of John R. Rapuano Sr., Peggy was born in New Haven, Nov. 2, 1939, the daughter of the late Constantino and Teresa Ciatti Afragola, graduated Wilbur Cross High School in 1956, resided in Hamden the last 50 years and was an aide for the Hamden Scholol System and Laidlaw Bus company prior to her illness. She is survived by sons John (Fran) Rapuano Jr., of Ft Meyers, FL., Michael (Anna) Rapuano and Robert Rapuano, both of Hamden, sister of Fred (Betsy) Afragola of New Caanan, sister in law of Patty Afragola of Hamden and Anna Afragola of Guilford and grandmother of Brittany, Cara, Michael Jr., and Julianna. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by brothers Richard and Allie Afragola. Funeral Friday at 9:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at St. Ann's Church at 10 o'clock. Interment in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 P.M.
