February 7, 1930 – February 3, 2025
Madeline "Mad" Cusano - Popolizio, 94 died peacefully February 3rd at Connecticut Hospice. She was the loving wife of the late Anthony Cusano Sr. & Andrew Popolizio. Born in West Haven, daughter of the late Carmine & Concetta Ciociola, Madeline worked as a purchasing agent for Southern Connecticut State University. She was a long time Hamden resident, living in the same house for 60 years. Madeline loved art, especially painting & drawing, she enjoyed going to the casino, shopping and cooking for friends and family. You could not go into her house without eating something. She was a fancy dresser, always having her hair done and make-up and jewelry on. She started a widow/widower's group at Blessed Sacrament which created many marriages including hers to her second husband. She is survived by sons Anthony (Karen) Cusano of Wallingford, Steven Cusano of Hamden, and Glenn Cusano of Fairfield, daughters Donna (David) Parillo of Wallingford, and Linda Cusano of P.A., grandchildren Jacqueline, Christopher, David Jr., Joseph, Nicholas, Stephen, Anthony & Ava, and 6 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother Carmine Ciociola. Calling hours will be held Monday February 10th from 9:30 - 10:30 am in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. A memorial service will follow at 10:30 am. Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the CT Brain Tumor Alliance ( www.ctbta.org ) or CT Hospice ( www.hospice.org ).
