Luigi Carusone, 69, of 55 Third St., Hamden, died at St. Rapahel's Hospital on March 22, 2010. He was the husband of Olimpia Mercurio Carusone. Luigi was born in Pontelatone, Prov. of Caserta, Italy, Dec. 11, 1940, the son of the late Giuseppe and Cristina DiRubba Carusone and came to this country in 1973 residing in Hamden, He was employed at the Stone Safety Electric and Southern Conn. St. University prior to his retirement. He loved his native Italy, his family, working with his hands and his garden. He was also a history buff and had written three books. Beside his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Donato (Cristine) Biceglia of Hamden 2 grandchildren, Donato II and Annalisa, a sister Maria Simone of Hamden and 10 other brothers and sisters in Italy and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, l022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at St. Ann's Church at 10 o'clock. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum in Pontelatone, Italy.
