Lucy K. D'Aunno Pompilio, 97, of Bradley Ave., Hamden ,died July 21, 2016 at Hamden Health Care Center after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Nicholas H. Pompilio. Lucy was born in Southington, April 25, 1919, the daughter of the late Pasquale and Josephine Cusano D'Aunno. She was a longtime Highwood resident and was very active in St. Ann's Church as well as the parish secretary. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Nick and being with her family. She is survived by daughters, MaryAnn(Thomas)Doody of wlfg. and Jo-Ann(Joseph) McLaughlin of Hamden, siblings, Carm Howard of Wlfg., Regina Boyce(Robert)of AZ and Pat D'Aunno(Benthe)of Southington grandchildren, Cheryl Cotrona, David(Wendi)Oranzo, Christopher McLaughlin and Jennifer Nolte(Stephen)and a great grandson Cameron Oranzo. She was pre-deceased by sisters Phyllis Tierney and Rose Surdam. The family would like to thank the staff at Hamden Health care and Hospice for going above and beyond on taking care of Lucy. Funeral services will be held Monday at noon in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave. Hamden, Friends may call Monday morning from 10 to 12 noon. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park, Hamden.
