Lucy "Aunt Lucy" Giordano, 98, of 135 Putnam Ave., Hamden, died at Arden House Aug. 19, 2014 after a long illness. Lucy was born in Allentown, PA., Sept. 1, 1915 the daughter of the late Pasquale and Nicolina Grillo Giordano and was credited, due to the early death of her mother, with keeping her family together by raising her siblings. In addition, she worked at Berger Bros. for 45 years, was a wonderful seamstress, making clothes for her family and loved to travel. She was always about the other person and went out of her way to help. She will be greatly missed. A Hamden resident for many years, she was active in Blessed Sacrament Church. She leaves a beloved sister, Raphaela Ciarleglio and a sister in law, Jewel Giordano, both of Hamden and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her siblings, Rosalie Anastasio, Rocco, Louis, Fred and Edward Giordano. Funeral Saturday at 10 o'clock from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:30 Interment in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Friends may call Saturday morning from 8:30 to 10 A.M.
