Louise "Lulu" Parolise Mericle, of 135 Putnam Ave., Hamden, passed peacefully Feb. 12, 2013 at Conn. Hospice. She was the wife of the late Gerald Mericle. Louise was born in New Haven, daughter of the late Frank, Sr. and Teresa Bolandelli Parolise, and was a Navy WAVE during WWII, serving her country from 1943 to 1946. After the war, she was secretary for several insurance and real estate agencies, and was active in several veteran organizations. She is survived by a brother, Joseph Parolise of Hamden and 7 nieces and nephews, 16 grand nieces and nephews and a great-great niece and nephew She was pre-deceased by sisters, Frances Amos, Rae DeSanti Frumento and Antoinette Parolise and a brother Frank Parolise Jr. Funeral Saturday at 9:30 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10 o'clock. Interment private. Friends may call from 8:30 to 9:30 Saturday morning. In leiu of flowers, memorial contributions may be ,made to Conn Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, Ct.
