Louis Rapacciuolo, 88, of Hamden, died at Conn. Hospice after a brief illness, on Oct. 18, 2017. He was the husband of Rita DellaCamera  Rapacciuolo. Lou was born in New Haven, May 11, 1929, the son of the late Salvatore and Maria Gallichio Rapacciuolo and had resided in Hamden the last 51 years. He was a heavy equipment operator for the City of New Haven for 33 years and the worked for Camco for 10 years prior to retiring. In his youth he was an outstanding baseball player, having had a tryout with the Boston Red Sox. He was an avid Yankee and NY Giant fan. Beside his wife. he is survived by a brother in law, Robert DellaCamera of North Haven and many nieces, nephews, grand niece and nephews. He was pre-deceased by siblings Connie DeStefano, Thomas and Joseph Rapacciuolo. Funeral Monday at 10:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at St. Joan of Arc Church at 11 o'clock. Entombment in the Mausoleum in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call Monday morning from 8:45 to 10:15.
