Leona B. Fischer, of Hamden,CT passed away on June 22, 2011 with her loving family by her side.Leona was born in Hazlet, N.J. on May 23, 1927, the daughter of William Edgar and Margaret Fetter-Mott. She was a Hospital Administrator for several New York hospitals and studied business at Nassau Community College in New York. Leona was a loving Mother, an avid reader and a devoted Catholic. She was married to the late Herman J. Fischer and the Mother of Nancy Burban of Stratford, Dawn Dormitorio of Naperville, IL, Terry Fischer of Beacon Falls, the late Brian Fischer, Laura Correri &Thomas Fischer,Timothy Fischer of Stratford, Alicia Panayotakis of Hamden and Christopher Fischer of Sandy Hook, as well as Grandmother to 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a brother, Bradley Mott of Douglaston, NY and many loving relatives. Friends are invited to go directly to the Church of the Ascension, Hamden, CT Saturday for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M.and may call Friday (TODAY) from 6 - 8 pm at Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven
