Lena Tirollo Copela, 89, of 21 Pond Rd., Hamden, died peacefully at her home, Oct. 18, 2012. She was the devoted wife of the late Peter Copela, Sr. Lena was born in New Haven, Aug. 9, 1923, the daughter of the late Nicola and Marion Iamartino Tirollo and had worked with her husband at Moran Brush Co. and later was a lunch aide at Church Street School. She was the beloved mother of Peter (Luba) Copela, of Hamden, Nicholas (Valerie) Copela of West Haven, Dennis (Maryann) Copela and John (Frances) Copela, both of Hamden, 9 grandchildren, Valerie (Scott) Paterson, Laura (Federico) Maturo, Nicholas (Andrea) Copela, Michael Copela, Patricia Copela, Christine (James) Hanks, Michele Copela, Jennifer Copela and John Peter Copela and 8 great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Marie Tirollo. Funeral Monday at 9:30 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at Blessed Sacrament Church a 10 o'clock. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Friends may call Monday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M.
