Laurel Ann Martindale Brunelli, 82, of Hamden, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2023 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford with her family by her side.  Beloved wife of 62 years of Robert Brunelli, Laurel was born on October 14, 1940 in New Haven to the late Harry F. and Norma Barseth Martindale. Loving mother of Robert Brunelli Jr of Hamden, and Dawn (Mike) Sagar of Arkansas and cherished grandmother of Kayleigh (Clayton) Sagar, Matthew (Mary) Sagar, Joshua (Morgan) Sagar and Sarah (Jackson) Sagar. Also survived by brothers Doug (Terry) DuPaul of East Haven, Wayne (Tony) DuPaul of Florida, sisters-in-law Judi Martindale of Clinton and Kathy (Barry) Healey of North Branford, brother-in-law Mario Ruggiero of New Haven, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Laurel is preceded in death by daughter April and son Paul, sister Carol Ruggiero and brothers Harry Martindale, Howard Martindale, and Edward DuPaul. Laurel led a full and beautiful life; marrying the love of her life, Bob, devoting herself to organizations and projects to enrich the lives of people with autism, raising a family, and traveling the world. She graduated from Wilbur Cross High School in 1958 and worked at Arden House in Hamden for many years. Happiest in the sun, whether it was at the beach or on her deck, Laurel was always ready for a cup of coffee and "something sweet". Calling hours will be held TUESDAY from 4-7 P.M. in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. Friends are also invited to attend a parlor service there Wednesday at 10:30 A.M., followed by interment in All Saints cemetery.
