Joyce Graham Smalling, 71, of West Haven, formerly of Hamden, died at St. Raphael Campus on June 26, 2017. She was the wife of the late James Smalling. Joyce was born in Brooklyn, NY Nov. 14, 1945 and resided in Hamden most of her life. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, James and had a heart for the Lord. She was a former member of the Church on the Rock. She was a para professional in the New Haven School System for 10 years. She is survived by her sons, Ephraim and John Smalling, both of Hamden and her siblings, Charlotte Rasmussen, Deborah, Kenneth and Gary Graham. Friends may call at The Peter H. Torello & Son funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, Thursday morning from 9:30 to 11:30. Interment in the CT State Veteran Cemetery, will be privately held.
